Alyssa called the meeting to order at 7:03

VOA Elections last month, congratulations to the following Crew 285 members
JB is President
Javi is VP admin
Brenda is VP Program
VP Communications office still open, so this is a chance to hold Council wide office if any of our youth wishes to run for the spot.
Chris delivers bears to the Children’s Hospital: As the final step of his Eagle Scout Project, Chris delivered the bears to the hospital.
Debrief on GRSP Clean Up: No one at this meeting attended the service project.

Bring a lunch or buy a lunch on site for $5
Event is over at 2 PM
Oct 25: GRSP Haunted Trail
Meet at park at 5pm
Tell them you are volunteer and thy will waive fee
Wear uniform or costume
Bring a bag of candy to give away (at least one bag)
Eat dinner or bring something to eat or you will eat candy or hot dogs
Bring headlamp/flashlight for after dark, a light jacket in case
Bring Halloween decorations (no electricity so must use batteries if powered)
Oct 27 next Crew meeting: Halloween theme, food?
Nov 7 Coker fest …fundraising chance if we can get coffee again.
Nov 10 Crew meeting
Nov 14-15 Pedernales overnight trip: Planning will take place at Oct 27 and Nov 10 Crew meetings. Quincy is the Activity Chair.
Remember, we will backpack to the campsites.
Dec 5 Bracken Cave service project: Mr Hutchins asked if crew would help with service project clearing the cave entrance and surrounding area. Sat Dec 5. As this conflicts with one of the planned Philmont hikes we will look into doing a hike in the area around Bracken rather than Government Canyon.

Dr. JT gave a brief update on Philmont. He stressed that you MUST be working on your own personal fitness program, you cannot rely on the few practice hikes. You will have a much better time at Philmont if you have strong legs and good core strength.
