May 25, 2017: AAC awarded three VLA awards, two went to youth and one went to an adult leader. Crew 285's Alyssa Thomas was one of the two youth recipients

Jan ​2017 Diamondback District Award Banquet features several Crew 285 recipients 

The annual award banquet was Friday Jan 27, 2017. Awards were for achievements in 2016

​The top award, the Silver Beaver, went to Crew 285's very own Bo Jackson!
Congratulations Bo!! Well earned!
 Marcy Roca and Dr. JT were each honored with the District Award of Merit.
And Javi Soza, Wesley Kirlin, and JB Marshall were recognized for earning their Eagles in 2016

​Crew 285 Food Drive Nov 22 delivers equivalent of over 10,000 pounds of food!

On Jan 26 we received a letter of thanks from the SA Food Bank for our food & fund drive on Nov 22, 2016. Between the food items and cash that we donated the bank logged 10,124 pounds of food with which they provided 7,909 meals!

​Brenda Kirlin wins National Association of Women Business Owners Scholarship

The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), recognizes women in business, assists in networking, empowerment, and a myriad of other opportunities. Brenda participated in the NAWBO Entrepreneurial Connections: Fostering the Entrepreneurial Dream program. It allows young women to learn about being an entrepreneur, specifically to write a business plan for the scholarship contest and was awarded Honorable Mention, receiving a $1,000 scholarship towards tuition of the university she attends.

JB is elected Southern Region Area 3 Venturing President

Please join the Venturing community in congratulating James "JB" Marshall from the Alamo Area Council on being selected by his peers as the 2016 – 2017 Southern Region Area 3 Venturing President! James "JB" Marshall will serve as the Southern Region Area 3 Venturing President from June 1, 2016 through May 31, 2017
