Welcome to the Crew 285 web site!
Crew 285 was active from 2012 through the end of 2018. But we presently have no active youth members so the Crew is currently dormant. If you are interested in joining the crew this is an excellent opportunity to mold the crew into one that does the exact type of activities you want to experience! We still have adult volunteers who can help you make that happen. And if you are an adult who wants to bring a group of youth into the program we will help transition Crew 285 over to your care. For now, Crew meetings are suspended until further notice.
Our meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, from 7-8PM, at the McCalister Scout Lodge on the grounds of Coker United Methodist Church in north San Antonio.
Scouting recently announced they are welcoming girls to join and to advance through the ranks like the boys. But scout troops with boys will remain separate from scout troops with girls.
Venturing is the coed branch of the Boy Scouts of America with a program designed for older youth and young adults, ages 14-21. Each Venturing Crew has its own focus. Crew 285 is a High Adventure and Community Service crew.
