Kristin called the meeting to order at 7:06
In keeping with our valentine theme we had valentine candies and cupcakes. Yum.

Review of Officer Duties and opening of nominations
The duties of each office were presented by those officers present: Kristin (President) Javi (VP Administrative) and Katie (VP Communication)
and the duties of VP Program and Treasurer were discussed.
Crew 285 has eliminated the office of Historian and added the office of Chaplain; Kristin reviewed the Chaplain's duties
Remember, officers are expected to participate in 100% of Crew events during your term unless it conflicts with a school activity. This does NOT include studying/preparing a project. That is a time management issue you are expected to solve without interfering with your Crew responsibility.
A term of service as an Officer of Crew 285 looks great on your college applications and gives you something that stands out from the horde.

SCUBA Presentation: Aaron and Mr. Peek
The spring-fed pool at Balmorhea is 30 feet deep and there are fish and turtles and other aquatic life in it! Many people learn how to snorkel and scuba dive in the crystal clear waters of Balmorhea.
To get us excited Aaron and Mr Peek brought a bunch of their scuba gear and gave a fantastic presentation on the challenges and thrills of being able to experience and survive in the underwater environment. We saw tanks, regulators, waterproof computers, buoyancy compensators, fins, masks and spear guns.
Mr Peak is Divemaster and can teach you how to scuba dive. If enough people are interested in taking a test experience in Balmorhea he will set it up for us.
