Then Mr. Lagueux gave us a presentation on what to expect at the McDonald Observatory Star Party
Important tips:
It takes a long time to dark adapt your eyes, so no white lights at the star party. Switch your headlamp to red (but you probably will not need it as there is enough lighting there).
Cold weather: Yes we will be in the desert, but it can get cold at night up at the observatory (low for the 27th is predicted to be 52) so bring at least a light jacket.
