This Saturday Feb 17 we will go to the rodeo for the fair and the livestock show form 2-4pm. You are responsible for all expenses (parking, entry, stuff you buy on the fairgrounds).
Spencer is looking for a good place for us to go zip-lining. The one at Natural Bridges is too lame (only a single zip line). So we are looking at one near Marble Falls and another at Lake Travis.
We might turn this into an overnight camping trip.
More details to come.

Teaching moment
Spencer reviewed CPR with us, using his sister Kat as the stricken patient.
He emphasized the 3 main points
1) CALL
Check the victim for responsiveness; in nonresponsive, CALL 911. If another person is around, have them call 911. If a group of people are around, assign one of them to call 911
2) PUMP
He showed how to lace your hands together, where to pump on the chest, and how hard to pump (Kat was a real trooper on this point)
You want to press down about 2 inches with each pump and keep a rhythm of 100 pumps per minute, which happens to be about the same as the beat in the song "Staying Alive" by the BeeGees. So get that song in your head and use it to keep your rhythm.
3) BLOW
After 30 pumps give 2 breaths. Tilt the head back and lift the chin. Pinch nose and cover the mouth with yours and blow until you see the chest rise. Give 2 breaths. Each breath should take 1 second
NOTE: The American Heart Association says the pumping is much more important than the breaths, so don't worry about exact counting...but keep the pumping going.

Valentine Pinata
Thank you to Mr Lynch for bringing a Valentine's Day Themed pinata for the meeting tonight. Not sure how the poop emoji goes with Valentine's Day but it worked.
This was one of those non-violent pinatas that release their payload when you pull the correct string. Once that string got pull the crew was treated to a variety of valentine themed candies (not poop emojis).
Thanks to Ms. Soza for bringing the mini Bundt cakes and to Dr. JT for a veggie tray and brownie bites.

As we enjoyed the treats we chatted a bit about upcoming changes to the Venturing program; Mr Lynch had just attended a meeting in Dallas on the subject. Then the meeting was adjourned.
