Once again Crew 285 was called on to provide meals for the volunteer staff of the FOR. And this year crew members were invited to participate on the competition which included shotgun, hatchet throwing and archery just to name a few. We took 2nd place in the Frisbee throw!
Only a few of our youth turned out for the event while over 500 scouts participated. James was inducted into Brotherhood of the Order of the Arrow Saturday night.
It was chilly but well above freezing this year.
For the staff we prepared Fri dinner (hot dogs, brats, salad, chips, fruit, cookies); a Crackerbarrel for the Senior Patrol Leaders meeting, Sat and Sun breakfasts (breakfast tacos, hot coffee) Sat lunch (ham and turkey sandwiches, chips) and Sat dinner (carne guisada on rice, salad). The effort was appreciated by the staff. Venturers are awarded 1.5 hours community service for each meal they helped with.
